So, last night I had my belated b-day gathering and I will not lie, it was mightily fun. It was small, I had only invited about 10 people, and 8 showed up. My faire buddy extraordinaire, Sara, drove up from DC to Bmore with her boyfriend, Fox, to come, so that was very exciting. And what with Steve (of Shakespeare's Skum) and his wife there, there was much relishing in faire stories between all of us faire veterans. There was also homemade pizza and ice cream cake. And wii. There was a LOT of wii playing going on. Also, Dr. Horrible viewing. Honestly, it was a pretty excellent night for us geeky types. ALSO, a good friend who I hadn't seen in a bit managed to come out to play. She's an artist studying at UMCP and makes sock beasties and arm warmers and other such things. (Available at her Etsy Shop!) I'm a sucker for her stuff and was her first paying customer with my purchase of sock beastie PJ. So I was delighted when she gave me a piece of work she had done that I had been admiring from afar, a classy french collage piece:
It is pretty darn awesome.
On another note, went out and bought material for my new renfest dress. Hooray! After spending several predatory hours in Joann's, obssessing over each bolt of fabric, I finally settled in on some suedecloth, which really seems like a mix between faux suede and mini-cord, but it's nice and fuzzy, so I said, sure. I'm not exactly sure what style of bodice is going to get made. I have an elaborate skirt plan down, so I know how that will work, but I'm still debating the bodice. I originally had plans to repeat the dirndl style, under-breast, single front-lace bit. BUT now I'm debating a double front-lace with a solid center accent panel - over-breast style, or even a mythical triple lace with two accent panels (under or over -breast). And that's something I really should get on deciding.
Also, I'm thinking massive curly pigtails for fair this year. Hooray!
Sooooo, here's a poem. I promise something more renfest centered a bit later.
ENJOY!
Hesaid/Shesaid A Pact for Two
Two lovers. One soul. And the waters roar below. She said, "Would I wait a thousand years for you and a thousand years more? I would." He said, "Would I die a thousand deaths for you and again a thousand more? I would." And on the shore, two lovers fell to their knees. She said, "These sands are full of empty vows and unfufilled words. And when the morning comes, what is washed away of our promises and what remains? What remains?" He said, "This ocean ebbs like time and returns like seasons, But even here, our worlds could never blend, so what will be our end? To what end?" "I swore I'd wait forever." "I swore I'd die at your word." "I'll match your promise, so our souls can fly together. Forget the sands and vows that fail, let's plunge to the ocean and soar..." Two lovers. One soul. And the waters roar below. And they walked farther and farther into the torrential waves until the lovers went crashing down.

Sorry about the 180 with the blog, but I could overlook the search feature if they would add some porn. Well I guess I'd just be distracted by the porn more than overlooking the other. Plus everything's better with midgets.
Don't know the movie. Just someone that resembles the girl
